The Cloister of the convent of San Domenico is one of the most evocative spaces of ancient Taranto

, a precious testimony of the Dominican presence and the historical stratification of the city. Characterized by elegant porticoes with arches in local stone and sturdy columns, the cloister preserves the intimate atmosphere typical of monastic environments, designed for meditation and community life.

In the

center, there is an inner garden, simple and harmonious, which recalls the tradition of medieval enclosed horti: a symbolic space of peace and contemplation, in dialogue with the natural light filtering through the archways. The stone surfaces, marked by time, tell centuries of history, between architectural transformations and new cultural uses.

Today, the cloister is an integral part of the San Domenico complex and

is often used for exhibitions, events, and cultural initiatives, keeping alive its vocation as a place of meeting and reflection. A corner suspended in time, where art, history, and spirituality continue to intertwine in the heart of the city.
