The Maritime Military Arsenal of Taranto is one of the most important Italian naval complexes and has been the hub of activities of the Italian Navy in the Mediterranean for over a century. Inaugurated at the end of the nineteenth century, the Arsenal was established to support the growth of the national fleet, providing advanced infrastructure for the construction, maintenance, and repair of naval units.
Located in a strategic position between the Mar Piccolo and Mar Grande, the complex extends over a vast area and includes dry docks, specialized workshops, and historic buildings of great architectural value.
